February Classes

Feb 4 - Healthy Happy Plants Indoors

There is an easier way to start & grow plants inside. With these insider tips your thumbs are bound to grow healthier houseplants. Plants, placement & short cuts to plant care are all covered in this hands on ‘How To’ class.

Feb 11 - Wildflowers Unleashed

Poppy secrets, the preferred wildflower mixes and how to increase your flowers success. We will have specialist on hand afterward to help you with the seed mix that is best for your landscape project. Take away the exact how-to’s to make these wild ones come alive in spring.

Feb 18 - Fruit Trees into Harvest

There are fruiting secrets to success. After this class you’ll have the right tree, planted in the right place, with all the ‘How To’ care and planting tips to guarantee success. We’ll have our orchard experts on hand after the class to help you mix & match trees. More canning supplies are needed after this class

Feb 25 - A Fragrant Mountain Rose

Beautiful roses are admired, but these roses will tickle the nose. Not only will you know which roses are most fragrant, but you’ll have all the insider tips the brings your rose to life with season long bloomers. Oh, we’ll have a huge selection of fragrant roses on hand that day as well . . . imagine that.

March Classes


March 3 - Grapes, Brambles & Berries for Kitchen use


Give me more trees and make sure they ALL have more fruit. We’ll cover grapes, berries and all things vegetables along with plant foods, sprays, bugs and an ever increasing harvest. Dozens and dozens of fruiting varieties will be on hand and all the professionals to help you increase the edibles in the landscape.

March 10 -Gardening for Newcomers

Arizona is different, but with a few of these tips, tricks and techniques you sure to have more success this spring. Our most popular handouts are available with lots of room for Q&A at the end. If you are new to the area or just want to freshen up your garden skills for spring this is a great class to start with. Local gardening is easier than you think.

March 17 – Easy Landscape Designs

Make a statement this year. Great landscapes begin with the right design. Learn the basics inirrigation design, plant placement and groupings that work with the mountains of Arizona. This class is full of handouts, information, interactive and fun.

March 24 - Fragrant Shrubs for Show

Many plants in the landscape are pretty, but these shrubs have the sweetest of smells to back them up. Learn which plants grow best and exactly how to plant them for the most fragrance this spring and every spring thereafter. By this second week in spring many of the examples should be in full fragrant bloom and well be showing them off.

March 31 -Flowers - The Big Bold Statement

Be a better flower gardener. Spring is a time of flowers, but some are easier to grow than others. Timing, placement, care all make a difference, but you’ll be an expert after this class. The garden center will be packed with showy examples. Our flower and herb experts will be on hand to help personalize the experience. Grow flowers confidently this year.

April Classes

April 7 - The Edible Landscape

Have your landscape and eat it too, or at least attract more birds. We’ll share the tips, tricks and recipes that make for a better, healthier and tastier landscape. Plant experts will be on hand after the class that specialize in landscape designs that can eaten after planting.


April 14 - Bigger Better Tomatoes & Veggies

Join us for a fun filled day of ‘Everything Tomatoes”. Classes, plants, soils, plant food, care & culture, heirloom and non-heirloom plus more. We'll have 100’s of tomatoes, demonstrations, classes and every kind of container, hanging baskets . . .(Yes, hanging tomatoes!), and everything else possibly pertaining to Tomatoes. I CAN'T WAIT ! ! !


April 21 - Garden For Newcomers II

New to the area, or just need a garden refresher course then this class is for you. Tons of garden handouts, short cuts and problem solving that's sure to turn thumbs even greener. Water schedules, plant food, reducing weeds and bugs, and the best plants for area will all be covered in this fast paced class.

What we Stand For
At Watters Garden Center we support local family farms. Local means fresher plants that are use to our water, soils and sun. This insures better plants, better success, a better environment and a better local economy. Family farms are just better for our community.
